"Be Part of It ! "- International youth project using the methods of INformal education

In the context of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogues, in the period September 12 -19, 18 young people from 3 European countries– Romania, Macedonia and Italy – had the opportunity to meet and exchange impressions with peers from other cultures, gaining competences for establishing an intercultural dialogue. "Be part of It!" is the result of a trilateral project sustained by the European Commission through the  “Youth in Action” Programme.
Some of the activities were:
Presentations and debates on: communication, leadership, conflict management, identifying and eliminating conflicts and cultural stereotypes,  outdoor activities and volunteering in the community.
The non-formal education is gaining more and more space in the educational programs of youth, adult and senior citizens, and its results are becoming obvious.

The Seniors' Academy - "We're never too old to learn !"

Foreign language learning is a requirement for the European citizen. By facilitating the access of the seniors to these courses, we aim at helping them gain intellectual knowledge as well as creating opportunities for social interaction, reaffirming their important role in our society and need for recognition.
Seniors Academy is a social-educational project undertaken by Student Plus Foundation with the collaboration of the Timis County Council that consists of English language and culture courses for retirees.

By participating in these courses, the seniors of Timisoara have the opportunity to socialize and communicate in the English language, under the guidance of Roman and native speakers of English. Since September 2008, over 200 senior students were enrolled in the English language classes.
Enrollment for these series can be made permanently at the Foundation Student Plus or online on our site, www.studentplus.ro. Each series of classes end with a social event.

Participation in the current series of courses is conditioned upon registration at the Foundation and payment of a registration fee of 5 Euros / person. All other costs are supported by the Student Plus Foundation and CJ Timis.
