WHY SHOULD YOUR CHILD LEARN ENGLISH WITH US?

YOUNG LEARNERS OF ENGLISH (YLE)
Provide your child with an age-appropriate, fun and interactive way to make his first steps in learning English. Learning a foreign language at a very early age has many benefits, because children are very responsive, they assimilate quickly, they make early progress and they are encouraged to gain confidence in their forces and capabilities. The YLE courses are designed for children between 6 and 12 years old. They have three levels: Starters, Movers, Flyers. At the end of each level, your child has the possibility to sit for a Cambridge exam corresponding to the level he has completed. Starters, Movers and Flyers exams test all the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
They are framed in the Common European Framework and in the Cambridge ESOL exams, which have annually over one million candidates. Starters and Movers correspond to level A1, and Flyers corresponds to level A2.

STARTERS
This course is addressed to children between 6 and eight 8 years, who know very little or not at all the English language. The children will be involved in both learning and creative activities based on pictures, coloring, listening, different interactive games, for learning and repeating words from the semantic fields recommended by the Cambridge Starters exams. At this level, the children learn to communicate through simple sentences, to respond to commands given in English and they learn words from the following semantic fields:

•Numbers 1-20
•Places and directions

•Sports and leisure
•Time
•Toys
•Transport

MOVERS
This course is addressed to children between 9 and 11 years, who already have some basic notions of English and who can formulate simple sentences and communicate informations about themselves. During this course they will enrich their vocabulary with words from new semantic fields and will develop their ability to express themselves and to understand more complex structures. At this level, your child has to learn words from the following semantic fields:

•The Home
•Numbers 1-100

•Places and directions
•School
•Sports and leisure

•Transport

FLYERS
This course is addressed to children between 11 and 12, who are able to communicate by using more complex structures and have a quite rich vocabulary. During this course, children learn to make short presentations on various topics of general and own interest, to compose short written texts and they develop their reading and listening skills by using texts with a higher degree of complexity. At this level, your child has to learn words from the following semantic fields:

KEY ENGLISH TEST (KET)
Preparation courses for this type of Cambridge exam are generally addressed to teenagers between 12 and 14 years, who understand simple written texts, short messages and oral instructions and are able to communicate in everyday situations.
The objective of this course is reaching level A2 on the Common European Framework of Reference, meaning that by the end of this course our young student will improve all the four skills (speaking, writing, reading, listening), will be able to understand not very complicated questions and instructions, to express his/her opinions and needs and to complete forms and write short letters and postcards.
KET is one of the basic-level English tests offered by Cambridge ESOL that increases the motivation of pupils to learn, gives them confidence to learn all four skills and it is a test recognized around the world.

PRELIMINARY ENGLISH TEST (PET)
Preparation courses for this type of Cambridge exam are addressed to teenagers between 14 and 16 years, who want to improve all the four skills (speaking, writing, reading, listening), to become more fluent in expressing themselves, the main objective being that of obtaining a PET certificate and implicitly level B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference.
After the completion of this level, our student will be able to deal with most of the situations he/she might meet when traveling in an English-speaking country, to ask not very complicated questions, to take part in conversations on different topics and write letters or make notes on familiar matters.
AT THE COMPLETION OF EACH OF THESE COURSES, THE STUDENT MAY SIGN UP FOR THE CAMBRIDGE EXAM CORRESPONDING TO THE COURSE AND OBTAIN A CAMBRIDGE CERTIFICATE, BUT THIS IS EXCLUSIVELY HIS/HER CHOICE.
APPROXIMATELY 4 MODULES ARE NEEDED FOR THE COMPLETION OF A LEVEL (1 MODULE=30 HOURS).
